Want to attend a hip search engine marketing conference, but have trouble convincing the powers that be that its worth the money? Check out my latest article, Justifying Conference Attendance For In-House Search Marketers on Search Engine Land. It will give you ammunition, they can’t say no!
And speaking of conferences, I will be at SMX West later this month, doling out free advice on the SMX Mechanics panel as well as moderating a lunch table on Mobile Marketing. Come by and say hi!

An article from me on Search Engine Land, Annual Budgeting Guide For The In-House Marketer, which offers some handy advice on how to really rock the annual budgeting process. If budgeting and forecasting search engine marketing is something you dread, this will hopefully make you see it more as a crisistunity, or at least something you can now power through more efficiently.
Also, if you plan to be at the PhoCusWright conference in Florida next week, I too will be gracing it with my presence. Drop me a line, I’d love to say hey. Do not under any circumstances ask me about my last trip to Florida, a state I vowed never to return to (damn you PhoCusWright!).

An article from me (that I think I forgot to mention) on Search Engine Land, +1 For The In-House Search Engine Marketer, which offers some speculation about the role of +1 on paid search campaigns, but also I think a healthy dose of practical things to do to have +1 improve your campaigns.
For those who enjoy my dulcet vocals, these notions and more are available in podcast form in a new SEMcast #19 along with some notes on new AdWords Editor features.

There’s a new update to AdWords Editor today with some good features added. Extensions are now on a tab within the editor (about time), I see sitelinks and business locations only so far, but I am sure more to come there. Keywords are all now on one tab with filters for “positives” and “negatives”. The Placements tab and Audiences tab also have the positives and negatives treatment. And as a result, the Negatives tab, now rendered unnecessary, has vanished. There may be more features updated I haven’t noticed or don’t use, but these are definitely good changes I think.
