Hiring an In-House Search Manager

May 26th, 2011 No comments

New post on Search Engine Land from me, all about how to hire a great in-house search engine marketer, or if an agency might be a better fit. Enjoy.

Sitting right now at ShareASale’s ThinkTank (as I type!), if you see me, say hi.

Upcoming Speaking & Conferences

May 23rd, 2011 No comments

I am about to embark on the marathon of conferences, some of which I am speaking at.

May 26 – ShareASale ThinkTank in Chicago. I’m participating in the Buying Trends panel and representing Viator as a merchant, we’ll be having affiliate-merchant meetings, so schedule a time to see us! I’m around the 27th as well for the Friday sessions and Cubs event.

June 7 – SMX Advanced – Speaking on the The SoLoMo Revolution: Social Media, Local Search & Mobile Search Collide. I’ll be talking about paid social media ads. I’ll be around for the whole conference.

June 11/12 – TBEX Vancouver. I’m just attending this one and chatting with travel bloggers.

Would love to see you, so stop by and say hi!

AdWords Editor Update

May 6th, 2011 No comments

There’s a new update to AdWords Editor today with some good features added. Extensions are now on a tab within the editor (about time), I see sitelinks and business locations only so far, but I am sure more to come there. Keywords are all now on one tab with filters for “positives” and “negatives”. The Placements tab and Audiences tab also have the positives and negatives treatment. And as a result, the Negatives tab, now rendered unnecessary, has vanished. There may be more features updated I haven’t noticed or don’t use, but these are definitely good changes I think.
