New Articles on Paid Social Media Marketing and Google’s +1

April 12th, 2011

There’a new article on Search Engine Land from me about paid social media marketing. If you’re interested in learning more about Facebook ads, promoted tweets or promoted accounts on Twitter, check out this article. Viator is one of only 600 advertisers using Twitter’s paid ad services. I think we might be the only travel company as well.

I am eager to see Google’s +1 hit AdWords ads. There’s a myriad of ways this could influence the AdWords marketplace, as a component of quality score, and thus ultimately CPCs. For more thoughts on the AdWords side impact of +1, check out this article on Search Engine Land by Ciaran Norris. I can’t wait to see +1 appearing on my ads, I think it could be fantastic, though I’m not sure about the impact. Interesting ads probably already have a great quality score because they generally have a strong click-through rate. Not sure +1 will impact that further, but who can say?
